"THE
HEART AROUSED - Poetry and the Preservation of the Soul in Corporate
America."
David Whyte's brilliant work provides the grounding and
images that allow us to locate that part of ourselves lost or struggling
to remain creative and humane while at work. Anchored by stories
and poetry from antiquity, The Heart Aroused examines the dynamics at
play in corporate workplace. Each chapter presents a unique
dimension and provides profound images, which resonate and often reflect
our own business careers and personal journey.
Through a guided discussion, we will explore the poetry and key images
presented and share the underlining themes as revealed or perhaps
experienced in an attempt to re-imagine and recreate a more fertile
environment for the soul.
Tele-Discussion Outline -- Each Session is just one
hour

strategy and organization by inviting soul to work.

Reviews
on the book - "THE
HEART AROUSED -- Poetry and the Preservation of the Soul in
Corporate America."
"David
Whyte makes the reading of poetry a matter of life and death. His
writings have moved me and changed me. If corporations would listen to
him they would not only, have better places to work, they would
make money." Pat Conroy
author of Prince of Tides, and Beach Music
"The
Heart Aroused is truly extraordinary. It brings a poet's
ever-deepening imagination to the world of business and work. It
steadies us, gives us grounding, and offers profound images for locating
our work deep in the soul. The very style of the book presents a new
dimension of language and reflection with contemplative tempo, that
could help us radically and fruitfully reimagine the workplace."
Thomas Moore, author of Care of the Soul and Soul Mates.
"The unique
contribution of the book is the way it easies us into the dark and
unmanageable side of the workplace. David Whyte makes the dive into the
waters of the soul attractive and delectable. What a fine
seduction." Peter Block, author of Stewardship; Choosing
Service Over Self Interest
David Whyte's images
resonate to the core. As a poet who has taken his work into the
corporate world, he pioneers a vision that is once practical and
illuminating. An arousing read from mind, heart, and soul." Marion
Woodman, Jungian Analyst and author of Leaving My Fathers
House
"With this insight book, David Whyte offers people and corporate
life an opportunity to reach in to the forgotten and ignored creative
life (their own and the corporation's) and literally waters there souls
with it. The result is a very well written book that can truly
heal. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD and author of Women Who Run
With Wolves and The Gift of Story
